Sauce Demonstration

| Sauce is a Russian clay medium that was used among the nineteenth and twentieth century Russian painters. Kromskoy, used sauce to create many of our greatest master drawings in the world today. In recent years, this medium was brought into the United States and is used primarily among portrait artists. Created on heavy weight watercolor paper it produces a suede-like finish . I find it to be one of the most forgiving mediums that I have worked with and I enjoy the value range that it provides. |

| Recently, I had an opportunity to visit area high schools where I was raised. Instructors from each of the schools set aside time for a demonstration in portraiture. It was a pleasure to return and offer the students this demo in fine oil portraiture and discuss with them the rewards of fulfilling ones dream. A big thank you to all who made this possible, my models were excellent and I only wish there had been more time to bring the portrait into fruition. I've been asked to return in the spring and perhaps the principals of the schools will consider posing for the portrait. Many Thanks, Sarah, Dee and Mary!!! |
